I am an admitted advocate of the High Court of South Africa since 2011 and also a member of the Johannesburg Bar since 2012. Prior to being called to the Bar I worked for local and international companies (SAB, PEU and SAAB Grintek) at senior executive and strategic level for over 16 years. I have also been a non-executive director of various Sate owned Entities including City Power, Denel, CSIR.
Accordingly, I have experience in both the private and public sectors. I hold Masters Degrees in Electromechanical Engineering, Engineering Management and Packaging Technology. Further, I obtained degrees in LLB, Business Administration (MBA) and LLM in Intellectual Property Laws. I have completed various courses in mediation and arbitration in Domestic and International arbitration in Commercial and Construction disputes.
I am a director of the Arbitration Foundation of Southern Africa “AFSA”. I am also a member of the Guiding Committee of China Africa Joint Arbitration Centre, “CAJAC”. I am in the panel of arbitrators of Arbitration Foundation of Southern Africa (Commercial and construction arbitration), Association of Arbitrators Southern Africa (Construction Arbitration) and Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, UK. I am also a member of the International Institute of Space Law.
I am a Councillor of the Legal Practice Council, the Regulator for all Legal Practitioners in the Republic, from 1 November 2018 for a period of three years. I was member of the BRICS Legal Forum Steering committee. I am serving as a Johannesburg Bar Council member for fourth consecutive period since 2017 to date. My practice is currently general in nature; however, has a strong focus on commercial litigation, administrative law, contract law, tax law, competition law, intellectual property law, construction law and alternative dispute resolution.
My practice also provides services in investigation and report preparation. I am a member of the Duma Nokwe Group, with my chambers at Fountain Chambers, Sandown Village Office Park, Corner Gwen Lane and 86 Maude Street, Sandton, Republic of South Africa.
